Shoutout to the retired electrician who made me see voltage drops differently
I spent an hour on site in Columbus last Tuesday chasing a false alarm on a DSC panel, and this old timer just glanced at my meter and said 'you're measuring at the panel, not at the end of the run,' so I checked the far contact and found 9.2 volts instead of 12, has anyone else been humbled by checking voltage at the actual device first?

Wait, so the panel was lying to you the whole time and the real problem was hiding at the end of the wire like a sneaky little gremlin? That's brutal, but hey, at least the old guy didn't make you feel too stupid about it, right?
