Ran my EOL resistor at the panel for 3 months before a guy in Fresno asked where I put it
I always twisted the end of line resistor into the terminals right at the can and called it good on every zone I touched. A guy named Dale at a supply counter in Fresno asked me where I was landing mine on a job we were both picking up parts for, and when I told him at the panel he just kind of laughed. Turns out that throws the whole zone off, the panel reads the resistor instead of watching for a short or cut at the far end of the loop. I went back and fixed 11 doors on a 6 month old install, all of them had it back at the can. Cost me a full Saturday and I had to eat the labor since it was my mistake. Now I tape it in a little bag at the last device before I even start pulling wire. Any of you ever get called back on this one or am I the only guy who did it backwards for a whole quarter?

Been there man, landed mine at the can on a whole strip mall job and had to eat a weekend fixing it too. Dale did you a solid, that supply counter guy saved you from doing it wrong on the next ten jobs.
