My old boss said to never trust a customer's floor plan for sensor placement
I had a job in a new condo building where the owner gave me a fancy digital layout. He told me to just follow it for the motion detectors. I put one in what the plan called the 'main hall', but it was really a tiny alcove by the front door. The real hallway was around the corner and totally open. Had to go back a week later to move it after the first false alarm. Anyone else get burned by bad building plans?

Seriously, how does a screen being fancy even cause a wrong answer? What were they looking at, a spreadsheet or a light show? Makes you wonder if the real problem was the info or just the flashy way it was shown.
