Hit my 100th false alarm call from a single customer today

It's this nice older lady in a condo downtown, her system trips almost every afternoon. I've been out there so many times I know her cat's name. The milestone hit when I checked my service log and saw the count. Every single one has been her setting it off by opening the wrong window while the system was armed. I've shown her how to use the keypad three separate times. At this point, I'm thinking of just giving her a laminated cheat sheet with pictures. Has anyone else had a customer who just could not get the hang of their own system?

That laminated cheat sheet idea... my buddy had a guy who kept setting off his motion sensor in the garage. Turns out he was forgetting to let the family dog out before arming the place. Every single night, the dog would wander in and trip it. They tried everything, even putting the dog's bed by the back door as a reminder. Eventually they just put a sticky note on the keypad that said "DOG OUT?" and the calls stopped.

My company had a client who reached 87 false alarms before we found the fix. It was a similar situation with an elderly gentleman and his patio door. The laminated sheet is a good start, but for some people, the system itself needs to change. We finally had to disable the sensor on that one door and add a contact on a longer delay just for him. @rubyreed's sticky note solution is smart because it works with the person's habit. Sometimes the training has to be on our end, to make the system fit the customer's life, not the other way around.
