Got a call back for a false alarm at a bakery in St. Louis that made me rethink my whole approach.

The owner was mad because the motion sensor kept going off at 4 AM. I found out their new baker was coming in early and the heat from the big ovens was messing with the sensor's range. I moved it to a different corner and changed the pattern, but it got me thinking. Do you guys always factor in stuff like heat sources and daily routines when you place a sensor, or do you just stick to the standard spots? I feel like I dodged a bullet on that one.

Hold up, I gotta disagree. That manual is the first place I look. It might be a pain, but it usually has a section on environmental factors like heat or airflow. Skipping it is just asking for a callback. How do you know what a sensor can handle if you don't check the specs?

Ever check the sensor manual for stuff like that?

The manual is like 200 pages of safety warnings and legal stuff. I doubt it has a clear answer for every random sensor glitch. People just like to say that to sound smart.
