That $180 torque wrench from a yard sale still haunts me
I watched a guy try to save money by reusing a crush washer on a 737 brake line, it leaked hydraulic fluid all over the hangar floor. He spent an hour cleaning it up and still had to order the right washer for $4. I told him the part cost was nothing compared to the labor, but he didn't listen. Now I double check every washer before I torque anything down. Anyone else got a story about someone risking a whole job over a cheap part?
