A guy at the hangar told me my torque wrench check was pointless

He said just doing the annual cert wasn't enough, and I needed to track the wrench's use count against its calibration cycle. I started logging every single use in a notebook after that job in Tulsa. How do you all keep track of tool cycles to stay ahead of calibration?

My log is mostly me forgetting to log things.

Why does it always seem harder to remember the stuff you're supposed to log? I had the same problem until I got a little notebook and pen that stays clipped to my keyboard at all times. @the_sam, once I started to write it down right after I use something, it became a habit. Now I even log things like sharpening my chainsaw or greasing the tractor. It helps a ton to have a physical reminder right there in front of you.

Used to think the annual cert was the whole story. That guy in Tulsa changed my mind completely. Now I log every use in a spreadsheet so I never run over the cycle count.
