Unpopular opinion: I quit heating up the air fryer first for everyday meals

It cuts down on wait time and everything still comes out great (no kidding!). I only heat it up for stuff like pastries that need a crisp start.

Yeah, that makes total sense. I've found myself doing the same thing with my oven, actually. Just toss the food in and add a few extra minutes (works for frozen pizza pretty well). It feels like we're all quietly cutting little corners to make daily tasks smoother, you know? Like how I stopped waiting for my coffee to cool down and just add an ice cube instead. These tiny time-saves add up over a week.

My grandma would be horrified, but I stopped preheating the skillet for grilled cheese. Reading @dylan413's take on coffee made me realize we all have these secret shortcuts. The bread still gets perfectly crispy, and I save a solid three minutes. It's AMAZING how much time we waste on autopilot. These small changes really do free up mental space for better things.

Totally on board with this. I never preheat my toaster oven anymore unless I'm making something fancy like garlic bread. Just pop my leftover fries in cold and they come out just as hot and crispy, maybe takes an extra minute. It's a total game changer for lazy weeknights.
