Tried two ways to do frozen fries in the air fryer and one was way better
I mean, I always just dumped them straight from the bag into the basket, but they came out kinda soggy. My friend told me to soak them in hot water for 10 minutes first, then pat them dry and add a tiny bit of oil. The difference was crazy, they got way crispier and more like real fries. Has anyone else tried a trick like this with other frozen stuff?

Ugh, the soggy fry struggle is real. My first batch looked so sad, like limp little potato sticks. I had the same issue with frozen onion rings, they just steamed in there. Giving them a quick rinse and a dry with a paper towel made a huge difference, they actually got crunchy. Might have to try the hot water trick next time.

That part about the onion rings just steaming in there is exactly it. I see this everywhere now, @laura_ross, like with frozen pizza that gets a soggy middle. It feels like a lot of food is designed to trap moisture. Your paper towel trick is smart because it breaks that cycle. Getting things actually dry before the heat hits them seems to be the real secret step no one talks about.
