Thought I was doing wings right until week 3

I used to just toss frozen wings in the air fryer at 400 for 25 minutes and call it done. Then my brother showed up with his from his Cosori and they had this crispy skin mine never had. He told me to pat them dry with paper towels first and spray a little oil on before cooking. Total game changer. Anyone else find out they were skipping a step like that?

Same thing happened to me with oven roasted potatoes.

Same thing got me the other week. Potatoes came out all sad and limp, nothing like the crispy ones you see in pictures. I was following the recipe step by step too, so it was pretty frustrating. Figured I must have crowded the pan too much, but it's hard to tell when you're just trying to feed a family. Makes you wonder if the oven temperature is lying or something. Hope your next batch turns out better, it's a real letdown when simple stuff goes wrong.

Wait, you're telling me it happened to you too? That's wild because I thought I was the only one who somehow messed up oven roasted potatoes. I even checked my oven temperature with a separate thermometer and it was reading perfectly. So frustrating when you follow the instructions exactly and still get a sad, pale batch. Makes you wonder if those food bloggers are using special potatoes or something.
