Spent way too long figuring out why my chicken thighs were coming out rubbery in the air fryer
Took me about 3 tries and a whole afternoon before I realized I was overcrowding the basket and not letting them rest after cooking, has anyone else dealt with that same dried out texture issue?

Did you pat them dry first, or just toss them in straight from the package?

Pat them dry? No way, I just tore the bag open and dumped them in straight. That's wild to me, I never even thought about that step. Does it actually make a difference with getting a better sear or something? I've been doing it the lazy way for years and never had a complaint, but maybe I've been missing out on the secret to perfect texture. Your mileage may vary on that one, I guess.

Three times I tried before I realized my air fryer was too small for six thighs at once, and even then I still got that weird texture until I let them sit for five minutes. @luna_green you ever try patting them dry and then letting them rest, or do you just go straight from the package to heat?
