Skip the preheat on chicken wings, just dump them in frozen
Everyone says you gotta preheat your air fryer for crispy wings. I tried that for months and always got uneven results. One day I was in a rush and threw a bag of frozen wings straight in at 380 degrees for 25 minutes. They came out way crispier than my preheated batches, no joke. I flip them halfway through and add sauce after cooking, not before. Has anyone else noticed frozen wings cook better than thawed in an air fryer?

...honestly I don't get why people get so worked up over preheating an air fryer. It's like a toaster oven with a fan, you know? I've thrown frozen wings in cold and hot both and I just can't tell the difference that much. Maybe I'm not a wing snob but they all taste fine to me after 20 minutes. My buddy swears by thawing them first and patting them dry, says it makes them crispier. I tried that once and it was just more work for basically the same result. So maybe you're onto something, maybe it's not that deep. I think people just like having rules to follow even when they don't really matter.
