PSA: My frozen fries turned into a smoky mess in my new air fryer

I was in my apartment kitchen in Chicago, and a full bag of fries stuck to the basket and started burning after 8 minutes. Has anyone found a good trick to keep frozen items from sticking without a ton of oil?

Been there, done that, got the smoke alarm serenade. A light spray of cooking oil on the fries themselves before they go in makes a world of difference. Shaking the basket halfway through also helps break them up before they fuse to the grid. It doesn't take much oil, just a quick spritz from one of those mister bottles.

Know that smoke alarm song all too well. My old apartment had one so sensitive it would go off if you looked at the stove wrong. The oil spray trick is a total game changer, stops that sad, stuck-on-fry mess. I started keeping a little spray bottle right next to the air fryer just for that. Makes cleanup way easier too.
