PSA: Found out my air fryer uses way more electricity than I thought

I was looking at my electric bill last week and saw a huge jump. Turns out running my air fryer for 30 minutes costs about the same as running my microwave for an hour. I found this out from a little chart on the Energy.gov website. Anyone else check their power usage and get surprised by their air fryer?

yeah the preheating thing is key, most air fryers heat up way faster than the manual says anyway. also running it in shorter bursts helped my bill a ton.

yeah I found that out the hard way too after my bill spiked last summer. what helped me was preheating it way shorter than the manual says, like just 2 minutes instead of 5, and cooking bigger batches at once so I'm not running it as often. also unplugging it between uses stopped that little vampire draw they have even when off.
