My frozen fries went from sad to crispy in just 12 minutes

I always used to bake them and they came out soft. Last night I put a single layer in the air fryer at 400 degrees, shook the basket once halfway, and they were perfect. The outside was so crunchy but the inside stayed fluffy. What's your go-to time and temp for frozen stuff?

I read somewhere that the hot air moving around them is the key. It dries the outside fast for that crunch. My usual rule is 400 degrees for most things, but I check a few minutes early. Those thin fries can go from perfect to burnt really fast.

That theory sounds right, but the oil spray matters more for crunch in my experience.

Yeah the thin ones are so tricky. I mean you look away for a second and they're done for.
