My frozen french fry experiment turned into a three hour kitchen mess
I tried to make those crispy seasoned fries from scratch in my air fryer, but getting the potato strips dry enough was a nightmare. I spent over an hour just patting them down with paper towels after soaking, and they still steamed instead of crisping up. It took three separate batches and nearly three hours total before I got a batch that was actually crunchy. Anyone have a better method for drying potatoes before air frying?

Oh man, that sounds like a full time job lol. I picture you there with a tiny towel, like you're giving each fry a personal spa day before it even hits the basket. Three hours for one side dish is a whole new level of kitchen dedication, I'd have given up and eaten a sad, floppy fry after batch two.

Did you read that article about the guy who spent 4 hours hand-cutting his fries and then deep-fried them in duck fat? Made me wonder if some people just have way too much time on their hands.
