My air fryer basket dumped half a batch of wings on the counter

Was pulling the basket out to shake things up around the 12 minute mark on some wings and the tray slid right out of the basket. Half the batch hit the counter and the floor, grease everywhere. I stood there for a second just staring at it, then scooped up whatever landed clean and threw it back in, but those pieces came out dry since they lost all their coating. Now I press the tray down with my thumb before every pull, which is dumb and slow. Does anyone have a basket that actually locks the tray in place, or a trick so this stops happening?
