My air fryer basket coating started peeling after 4 months of use

I got a Cosori air fryer back in April and used it almost daily for chicken thighs and frozen fries. Last week I noticed the non-stick coating flaking off in little black pieces. I called customer service and they're sending a replacement basket, but I'm worried it'll happen again. Anyone else have this issue with a different brand holding up better?

Switched to a stainless steel basket air fryer after my old one started peeling too... the non-stick coating on those just doesn't last with daily use. Been using mine for about 8 months now and no flaking at all, just wipe it down with a damp cloth after cooking. The food sticks a bit more than the non-stick ones but it's way less hassle than worrying about eating paint chips.

Have you ever thought about how the metal basket might affect the taste of certain foods? I tried stainless steel for a while but noticed my fries had this slight metallic edge, especially with acidic stuff like tomato based sauces. Not sure if it's just me being overly sensitive or if it's a real thing with bare metal baskets. I went back to ceramic coated ones for that reason, even if they're a bit more delicate. But hey, if you're not tasting anything weird, that's probably the best material for long term use for sure.
