Can we talk about the Tuesday my air fryer basket liner melted into my chicken wings
So last Tuesday I was rushing to get dinner going before my kid's 6pm soccer practice in Tacoma, and I grabbed this off brand parchment liner I got from a dollar store near my house. I had done wings in the air fryer maybe 40 times before with no issue, but this time I set it to 400 for 22 minutes like always. About 14 minutes in I smell something like burnt plastic and when I open the drawer the liner had curled up against the top heating coil and basically fused to three of the wings. I had to toss the whole batch, scrub the basket for 25 minutes with baking soda, and we ate cereal for dinner that night. Here is the thing nobody mentions, those cheap liners are not all rated for the temps we actually cook at, and the package does not always say that clearly. I am back to just spraying the basket with oil and doing it the old way, takes 30 extra seconds to clean but at least my food is not covered in melted paper. Has anyone else had a liner go bad on them, and did you find a brand that actually holds up past 375?
