Burned my garlic bread so bad the smoke alarm went off at 7am
I threw in a frozen loaf without checking the manual and set it to 400F for 12 minutes, came back to charcoal and my whole kitchen smelled like a campfire disaster. Anyone else had a recipe go sideways on the first try and then totally nailed it on attempt two with half the time?

Learn everything twice, the second time always easier.

Back in my thirties I figured repetition was just a waste of time. I'd read a manual once and think I had it. Then I tried teaching myself basic guitar chords at 45, and going over the same three chords for a week straight made them stick in a way they never did the first time. It finally clicked that the second pass is where your brain actually builds the path, not the first one.
