Remember when you had to manually tag every photo in a gallery?

Back in 2019, I was helping my aunt organize about 800 digital photos from a family reunion. Manually naming and tagging everyone was taking forever. I tried a free AI tool called PhotoPrism, which promised to auto-tag faces. I uploaded the whole folder, and after a couple hours, it had sorted almost everyone correctly into groups. It even recognized my cousin's kids from when they were babies. Has anyone else found a good way to handle old photo collections without spending a whole weekend on it?

Manually tagging 800 photos sounds like my own personal hell. I got stuck doing that for my mom's vacation pics once and my eyes started to cross after an hour. The AI getting the baby pictures right is wild, though.

That reminds me of my uncle's endless slideshow nights.
