My AI transcription tool turned a 10 minute meeting into 45 minutes of nonsense
So last Thursday I tried out one of those AI meeting transcription tools for a walkthrough with a client at a job site in Aurora. I figured it would save me time since I usually scribble notes on a clipboard and lose half of them. The thing worked great for about 10 minutes, then the client said something like "the main shutoff is behind the water heater" and it logged it as "the main shut off is behind the water heater ate her." I spent almost an hour going back through the whole transcript trying to figure out what was real and what the AI just made up. It even invented a whole sentence about a permit inspection that never happened, and I almost called the city about it before I caught myself. I get that these tools are getting better, but has anyone found one that actually holds up when there is background noise or people talking over each other? I want the time savings but not if I have to double check every single line.
