Learned to trust my phone's AI autocorrect... and now my texts make a lot more sense.

We're all slowly handing over small bits of thinking to our devices. It happens without us really noticing, like letting a map app handle directions. You get convenience, but you lose something small each time.

I was pretty skeptical of letting my phone fix my words for me. After it started catching my typos and suggesting better words, I realized it was actually helpful. My messages became clearer, and I spent less time editing them (which is a nice bonus). It's like david_rivera71 said, we give up little bits of effort, but the trade-off makes sense here. The convenience of not worrying about every comma or misspelling lets me focus on what I'm trying to say. Now I see it as a tool that improves communication, not something that takes away from my own thinking.

Yeah that "little bits of thinking" part is so real. Reminds me of when I stopped remembering phone numbers because my phone stores them all. I used to know like ten by heart. Now I just know my own. It's the same with maps, I let GPS do all the work and I couldn't tell you how to get to my buddy's place without it. We're definitely trading memory for convenience all over the place. My dad still has his old Thomas Guide in the trunk and I just don't get that at all anymore.
