Just saw a video where someone said AI can't make new ideas, only mix old ones, but that's not what I see with tools like Stable Diffusion.

I've been using Stable Diffusion for six months and it can create wild, totally new art styles I've never seen before, not just mashups, so why do people keep saying it's only a remix machine?

Totally agree, it's way more than a remix. The other day I typed in a nonsense phrase about "glass trees with neon roots under a velvet sky" and it made this whole new aesthetic that felt completely alien. My friend who's an art teacher couldn't even place the influences. It's pulling stuff out of the noise that just wasn't there before.
