Used to shotgun a 40 minute nap on the couch, now I set a 26 minute timer on the floor
For years I would just crash on the couch whenever I got sleepy around 2pm, no alarm, no plan. Then last winter I woke up at 5:40pm in the dark with my heart pounding and my whole evening gone, which was the last straw. Now I lie flat on the floor with a rolled up hoodie under my knees and set a 26 minute timer on my phone across the room so I have to stand up to kill it. I still feel groggy maybe 2 out of 5 times and I cannot figure out if it is the floor or the timer length. Does anyone else snooze better on a hard surface, or am I just weird?
