Shoutout to the $3 VHS lot at a garage sale in Fresno that fixed my Saturday mornings
I was trying to find something to watch with my kid on Saturday mornings and streaming just kept suggesting new stuff that felt flat. Then I hit a garage sale in Fresno and grabbed a box of 14 recorded VHS tapes for $3, mostly cartoons taped off TV in the mid 90s with the old commercials still in them. We popped in a tape and my kid sat through a full block of shows plus ads for cereal and toys without touching a screen once. Something about the tape ending and having to wait for the next one slowed the whole thing down in a good way. Has anyone else gone back to tapes for stuff like this, or did you find a better way to get that old Saturday morning feel?
