Rewatched Digimon the other night with my nephew
The digital world animation holds up way better than I remembered. But did the English dub cut out something important from the original Japanese version?

I watched the first season with my kids last summer and noticed the same thing about the dub. The English version cut out a lot of the deeper character development and some darker moments, especially around the whole Dark Masters arc. If you really want the full story, you need to find the Japanese version with subtitles. That version gives the kids more emotional weight and the ending hits way harder. It's a shame they watered it down for the US broadcast back then.
