Realized last week that Pinky and the Brain was basically supply chain management
I was stuck on a job in Alexandria last Tuesday waiting for a part that got delayed at the distributor. My apprentice was humming the theme song and it hit me - Pinky and the Brain spent every episode trying to acquire resources (world domination supplies), plan logistics (the elaborate schemes), and deal with constant failures (the Brain's plans always falling apart). That's exactly what running a plumbing crew feels like some weeks. Anyone else have a 90s show that suddenly made sense as an adult?

Hold on, hold on. Pinky and the Brain is supply chain management? Man, I've been watching that show wrong for 25 years. Now I'm sitting here trying to remember if the Brain ever had to deal with a backorder on his "take over the world" kits. I bet his shipments from ACME always got held up in customs too. Everything makes sense now, this is kind of blowing my mind.

Oh man I used to just see it as two lab mice being funny. Never once thought about Brain's whole operation needing logistics. Now I'm picturing him trying to source the right parts for his mind control ray and dealing with backordered microchips from some overseas supplier. His whole plan probably falls apart because the ACME catalog is always out of stock on something key.
