PSA: My VCR ate the tape during the Mighty Morphin marathon and I fixed it with a pencil
So this went down at my buddy's place in Fresno back in 1997, middle of a Power Rangers marathon we'd taped off the TV. The tape got chewed up right at the Green Ranger intro, and we all just sat there staring at the VCR like it owed us money. My friend's older brother said leave it, it's dead, but I popped the tape out, stuck a pencil in the reel and wound the crinkled part back by hand. Took about 20 minutes and some serious patience, but it played fine after that, a little wavy on the tracking. We missed half an episode but nobody wanted to restart the whole tape. Anyone else win a fight with a VCR and a pencil, or did you all just cry and buy a new tape?
