Just realized I had a choice between tape-recording Goosebumps episodes or catching them live

I always taped them on VHS so I could rewatch the creepy parts, but then I'd miss the next week's because I'd used up the tape. Did anyone else have to pick between recording one show or just watching it as it aired?

And honestly that was way better than watching them live. You could skip the commercials and pause to figure out the twist before it hit you. Who needed to suffer through Slappy's dumb puppet face in real time when you could fast forward right to the good parts.

You know what, I used to think watching live was the only way to go, but you’re right about Slappy’s dumb puppet face. Sitting through that thing in real time was brutal, and skipping the commercials alone is worth it. I’m officially converted to the pause and fast forward method now.
