Blew $50 on a VHS tape of an old cartoon that turned out to be a scam bootleg

I grabbed what looked like a legit 90s VHS of Ren & Stimpy from a seller online, but it was just a crummy dubbed copy that barely plays. Anybody else get burned by fake nostalgia tapes from random shops?

Dude it's fifty bucks on an old cartoon tape. Could have been worse, could have been a hundred on a knockoff Beanie Baby that smells like cat pee. The tracking lines are half the charm anyway, brings you right back to 1993.

Man that sucks, I've been there too. Dropped $40 on what was supposed to be a clean copy of the old Darkwing Duck movie and it was just a blurry recording someone made off cable with the commercials still in it. The tape had that cheap sticky feel and it kept getting eaten by my player. Really kills the whole nostalgic vibe when you're just straining to see if it's even the right show through all the tracking lines.
